I want to say that when I woke up this morning I knew today was Saturday, June 29th, 2024. But I had to look at the date to figure out what day it was. This brings us here, to the Saturday Newsletter of the week 🤣

And what has been happening since the last Newsletter? Cricket. For those who have read my bio, they know I am from Florida which means I am from the United States which means I used to think cricket was only a bug. But since going to school in Barbados and expanding my world knowledge, I have learned more about Cricket and Saturday happens to be the perfect day to talk about Cricket since the final ICC Men’s T20 World Cup just finished today—a big Congratulations to India and all their players for their amazing skills.

I happened to have the opportunity to see a Cricket match while in Barbados. I got to watch my home country USA play against England. While yes, we lost. It was still amazing to see the USA try their hand at just a big sport. We worked our way up to the top 8 and we played as well as we could in the big leagues.

Now, I could sit here all day and explain the rules of cricket to you all but I felt like it was best to leave it up to someone who could explain it in 2 minutes and explain it better. I am still pretty new to this sport. I follow when I can and I am learning every time I watch a new game. The first time I saw a match, I told the group I was with that it just looked like a slower version of baseball. The looks of horror I got with that statement. Someone told me I was very much American. So that is when I set out to learn about cricket and slowly transform into that person who if gets the chance to talk about it, will talk about it for a full hour explaining in great detail why you should also like the sport.
