Newsletter: World’s Lizard Day/Updates

And… We are back on Word’s Lizard Day. So le’ts take a moment and just admire how cool these creatures can be:

And here some fun facts for this lovely thrusday about lizards:

  1. There are anole lizards in the Americas can breathe underwater through creating an air bubble from their breath that encapaultes their faces.
  2. Galápagos marine iguanas are the only lizards dive into the ocean. Their diet consist of algae. They have the ability to absorb solar heat
  3. Brookesia nana is thought to be the smallest reptile alive. This nano-chameleon from Madagascar can fit on the tip of your finger.

Now on to updates. I am from vacation with semi good news, semi bad news.

Bad news: I didn’t quite hit the score I needed on my exam so back to making being a medical student 95% of my personailty.

Good news is, vacation was refreshing, got some good writing time in, got to sepnd time with the people I love, and feeling lighter to tackle this exam next time.

Speaking of vacation… we went to South Dakota, and here’s a reptile-adjacent fact that blew my mind: alligators used to live there thousands of years ago! Fossils hint that the ecosystem back then could actually support them. How’s that for unexpected lizard cousins?

Now the two photos I featured was from the Mesume of Geology in Rapaid City, I will post the link to their website for anyone who is more curious:
