Newsletters: Island Life Again… new book release, Oh my

Just a quick life update between the chaos of the world and what a whirlwind these past few months have been. Between getting back into studying, facing my own homesickness (which feels a bit ironic since that’s the theme of my new book!), and trying to keep up with everything, it’s been an interesting mix of slow days and fast weeks.

First, I want to thank everyone who has bought a copy of The Distant Voice of Homesickness and given it a chance. I’m truly proud of this collection. Releasing new poetry is always a little scary, but I think this one turned out beautifully. For anyone who hasn’t picked up their copy yet, it’s available now on Barnes & Noble!

It’s almost funny—the timing of The Distant Voice of Homesickness and my return to island life for my school’s exam prep course. I probably could have written a few more poems about homesickness just from this experience alone. Adjusting back to island life has been challenging. I thought I’d be enjoying fall weather, sipping apple crisp lattes, and soaking in the cool air… instead, I have rainy afternoons, humid weekends, and vanilla lattes. But hey, coffee never changes.

In all seriousness, it’s still an adventure. I’m grateful to keep writing and dreaming. I’m currently working on the second Blessed book—that’s the next big novel coming your way—and I’ve started entering writing contests whenever I can. I’m learning to find balance. I’m not sure yet what my next poetry book will be—maybe I’ll finally finish The Loud Voice of Love, or maybe something new will find me. I’ve also been toying with the idea of a Guardian Angels poetry series.

For now, I’ll be focusing on my studies so I can pass Step 1—hopefully by the end of this year or early next year—while continuing to write poetry and develop other projects. Maybe a few new short stories will even appear on my Barnes & Noble page soon.

Thank you all for being part of this journey with me. I’m looking forward to sharing more updates, reviews, and writing with you soon!
