Goals for 2026

• Finish Blessed Book 2 and have a publication date set for December 2026 or early 2027
• Write another banger of a poetry book
• Publish another short story — think The Nutcracker, but make it Halloween
• Move on to the next step of my medical student adventure, a.k.a. pass Step 1
• Stay positive, stay hopeful, and never lose sight of what it’s all about

And keep y’all guessing — because who would’ve guessed I’d be 18 days late making a Happy New Year’s post?
You and me both is the correct answer.

But… Happy New Year’s, everyone 💫
If you follow my Instagram (add username here), you probably saw my other Happy New Year’s post, so maybe I’m only semi late? Or maybe this was my plan all along.

Because let’s be honest — 2026 may have hit some of us harder than expected. This is your reminder (and mine) that if the year started off rocky, that’s okay. We still have months ahead of us and a whole lot of magic that can happen, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet. Baby steps — that’s what I tell my boyfriend. One day at a time. One inch at a time.

And if your year started off amazing, I’m happy for you too — because small wins and big wins deserve to be celebrated. I hope your year keeps getting grander and grander. Maybe 2026 will be all of our year — even if, for some of us, it’s made up of quiet wins that don’t look big to others.

At the end of the day, I hope we all take a moment to make a plan for what we want out of 2026. We can make changes toward the life we want to live. And if the New Year is the motivation we need, then that’s great. If we make one goal, forget about it, and then stumble upon it again in June? Even better. So here’s to the adventures and memories we’ll make this year — and to the hard lessons and bad days too, because they shape us. They help us become the people we’re trying to be. And at the end of the day, I hope 2026 is kind to all of us.

As for me? I’m wishing for a peaceful year with fewer turns and bumps. I already have my goal list and my bucket list, and I’m going to try my best to make them happen.
